Trakai is ~ 1 hour bus ride away from Vilnius.
After alighting at the small bus station, we followed the road towards the Trakai castle. It is a long walk away.

There are information posts and maps along the way.

The Trakai castle soon came into view

Soon it became dark in the afternoon and it's time to return to Vilnius.
On the walk back to the bus station, we had our meal at an Asian restaurant. Not sure to call it lunch or dinner :)
There are comfort foods from Asia to choose from, though the prices are on the high side, considering we are in Lithuania. I had a glass of hot red wine to keep myself warm.
The return journey is unfortunately made in a minivan, which is packed full, making for an uncomfortable ride. Upon return to Vilnius bus station, we collected our luggage and started our long, cold and bored wait for the overnight coach at ~2300 hrs.
The coach came slightly late, but I'm glad it came and spent the night comfortably in the recliner seat of the lux express coach.
