On the Arctic Circle Express

I disembarked at the Narvik train station. Although I'm very near the top of the world, this station is not the northernmost. After doing some research, it is actually in Russia.

I have booked myself on the Arctic Circle Express, overnight from Narvik to Stockholm. Again the coach is well timed to connect to this train. A layover of about 2 hours. There are not many people travelling on this leg Narvik to Abisko.

While waiting for the train, I explore the station surrounds.

The train arrived early. It is again in a 2-2 seating configuration with power outlets. There are private rooms available at an extra cost.

There are no eateries near the train station. The train attendant informed me that food is only available for purchase after the train crossed into Sweden.

Majority of the passengers boarded at Abisko, a tourist town in Sweden. With that, the train became full. Unlike the Norwegian train, the SJ train did not provide overnight kits. Also, there seems to be no recline for the seats at all.

Because of the short daylight hours in winter, I could not see the otherwise beautiful scenery for most of the journey. This train again passes through the arctic circle.

Finally, the SJ train arrived into Stockholm on time.
