After a short flight from Melbourne in the morning, I landed at Hobart airport and saw this at the arrival area:
the tasmania devil!
From the airport, I took the skybus and alighted at the harbour.
Hobart has a compact downtown and can be comfortably explored on foot.
Soon after, I went to board the redline coach for my ride towards Launceston. In Hobart, the bus simply stop at the curbside. In Launceston, there is a proper bus terminal.
In Launceston, I opted to take a ferry ride in the pleasant weather.
Some snacks are provided onboard the cruise.
Wine tasting !
The ferry passes through some scenic areas before returning to the harbour.
After the ferry ride, I walked over to explore the pedestrian shopping street.
My flight from Launceston is due to depart in the evening. As Launceston doesn't offer an airport bus connection at this hour, I had to book an uber ride to the airport.
From Launceston, I flew back to Melbourne on Jetstar in the evening, and connected to a Scoot overnight flight back to Singapore.
In conclusion, it has been a great opportunity to visit Tasmania, the main cities of Hobart and Launceston!
Due to time constraints and lack of public transport options, I did not have the chance to visit Cradle mountain and the tasmania devil enclosure which are both outside the city and require long commutes. Another time perhaps!
