Yunnan, China '11

See past the sheer number of people around you, and you will find that China's sights is as dramatic as anywhere else in the world. I like to visit China, having been there for 4 times now. It is easy on the budget, and has some pretty amazing sights once you wander away from the big modern cities. In this trip, I went to Yunnan province in China, a 4.5 hours flight from Singapore.

I landed at Kunming airport, having only booked a hotel, and with no plan in mind. After I landed and exited the airport, a travel agent approached us and wanted to sell us travel packages. We just followed the agent in a car and went to their office building in a deserted part of the city. In the end, we bought the tour packages for Kunming and Dali. The tour agents turned out to be reliable and not scammers. All the itinerary were followed and we were guided all the way.

At that time, I was still quite innocent haha:) and trust other people easily. Thinking back, might be good if I can be a little bit more cautious, like getting into strangers' cars. Anyway, the trip is done and we have a wonderful time!

Chinese New Year decorations at Changi Airport. We went there during the long CNY weekend.

Beautiful scenery from the plane

Kunming city

After an overnight sleeper train, we are in Dali. There are certainly lesser people over there, and the sights are really breathtaking.

An island in the middle of nowhere. This cruise ship is actually going to dock at that island.

Busy CNY

Back in Kunming, at the stone forest.

Morning dance by the elderly folks. Interesting to watch. It is not a show, but their morning routine.

Going down there to ride that boat

At 九乡 . A lot of tourists, mainly the mainland Chinese

Colourful lighting to show off this cave

Selfie on an open cable car, with just a handlebar to hold on to. But the scenery is very nice.
